Deerfield Residents Extend Their Compassion Beyond Their Community

Each year, the residents of Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community extend their care and compassion far beyond their own campus through generous contributions to the Deerfield Charitable Foundation. Guided by the Foundation’s Board of Directors, gifts to the Deerfield Cares fund are distributed to organizations whose missions strengthen the well-being of older adults and enhance the broader community.

Four Seasons is deeply honored to be one of the Deerfield Charitable Foundation’s ongoing focus areas. This enduring partnership has helped ensure that hospice and palliative care remain accessible to anyone in Buncombe County who needs them—regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.

Through the support of Deerfield residents, a $75,000 gift to Four Seasons’ Angel Fund will provide essential services for patients who fall outside traditional coverage programs—those who are too young for Medicare, do not qualify for Medicaid, or lack private insurance. For these neighbors, the compassion of Deerfield residents translates directly into meaningful, life-affirming care during some of life’s most fragile moments.

“The residents are so grateful for the end-of-life care they and their loved ones receive from Four Seasons and believe that everyone in the community deserves access to that same level of care,” shared Michelle Wooley, Executive Director of the Deerfield Charitable Foundation. She added, “Residents of Deerfield and members of the Foundation Board believe strongly in supporting agencies that help older adults live and age with dignity. By investing in organizations like Four Seasons, we’re helping ensure that vital programs continue to serve the greater community.”

Four Seasons is deeply grateful for the Deerfield community’s trust, partnership, and shared belief that compassionate care should be accessible to all. Together, we continue to build a community where no one faces serious illness or end of life alone.
